OCTOBER - RE-ALIGN.
What does it mean to re-align?
We could focus on the physical part of the practice and look at the alignment of the asana’s , (physical poses) but there is no universal alignment that works for every unique body. Whilst we can apply the principles, the position of the right little toe doesn’t make too much difference!
Instead we’re focusing on re-aligning what feels right to us. Coming back to why we practice and how we practice.
We’ve spent the last few months building strength, building resilience, and building an understanding of the fundamentals. Now to apply that to our personal practice!
This month we’re encouraging you to keep a practice journal. Whether you step on the mat for five minutes, or take an hour long practice, we’re encouraging you to make a note of how you feel afterwards. Understanding the decisions we make on the mat can help us come back to why we practice in the first place.
We’ll be giving you some journal prompts, but here’s a good place to start!
- Why did I step on my mat today?
How was I feeling before practice?
Did anything feel difficult during practice?
What felt great during practice?
How do I feel now?
Do I feel more aligned?
At the end of the month we’ll reflect back on our observations and see if we feel more connected !
